THREE DISC SET

The much anticipated Best of Starrcade, which is to be released in January, 2009, is going to feature both a documentary on the PPV, as well as a countdown of the greatest matches. Below are the details of the DVD:

For close to two decades, it was the signature event- first in NWA, then WCW. Some of the greatest Superstars in wrestling history had defining moments at the event. Starrcade may be gone, but fans of sports entertainment continue to celebrate its rich tradition and lasting legacy. Now, for the first time on DVD, the greatest matches of Starrcade are collected in a 3-disc set, along with a new and exclusive documentary exploring the 18-year history of the event, including comments from Ric Falir, Dusty Rhodes, Magnum TA, Road Warrior Animal, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, David Crockett, and others. The featured matches, as voted by the WWE Universe, are counted down by some of the key players from the time.

It can not be a collection when theres thousands of matches missing that are.good..like the 1995 tournament WCW vs New Japan..and for them not to put Benoit its a shame

You right probably 200 but you know what i mean...savage vs flair in starcade 95 was good....the tournament with New Japan vs WCW was good...the Sasaki vs Sting was in that Starcade also...the bret hart vs Goldberg..this is a shame that a dvd about a event with rich history has to come down to these matches...voted by the fans makes it worse...who ae the fans?? I bet you they are not wrestling fan purist...they just started wrestling the other day.

3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 alright but not great, 7.15.2009
Reviewer: jonathan clifton (conway, SC)

as good as it is the documentary should have been longer and personally i could have seen another magnum t.a. match or even a flair vs. ron garvin title match.the brisco's tag title match absolutely does not belong here.i guess its to show people who jay youngblood was before he died.i don't know.many rehash matches from other dvds are on here as well.where's the r-n-r express vs. ivan and nikita?or how bout even a r-n-r vs. ole and arn anderson?the fans who voted are not marks for old NWA and show their lack of knowledge for the old days when we actually had more than 4 matches on t.v. per episode.its like a tease because they talk up certain matches in the documentary piece but don't top ya off with the actual bouts.
