The Man With The World Class Voice
The Bill Mercer Interview
Most wrestling fans may not recognize the name Bill Mercer but once they hear his world class voice they will know exactly who he is. Mercer has been involved with wrestling in Dallas well before World Class Championship Wrestling ever started. More importantly Bill's time in wrestling is just a foot note on his amazing career in broadcasting. Bill was a reporter in Dallas during the Kennedy assassination and was the one who told Lee Harvey Oswald that he was being charged for murdering the President. Also, Mercer is still trying to thaw out from the the legendary Ice Bowl when he was the Dallas Cowboy's radio announcer.
Bill Mercer is a legendary sports announcer but it was him and Mickey Grant who changed the way wrestling is produced for TV today. From the ringside cameras to feature videos World Class Champion Wrestling created what is the industry standard today and Bill played a large hand in that innovation.
You have heard other people tell their stories of WCCW now it's time to listen to the stories from a man with a world class voice.
